We live in Idaho and would be interested in this type of community in our home state. Are there any plans for an Idaho community?

Yes, a community in Idaho has been in the plans from the start, along with AZ, UT, WY, and Alberta, Canada.
Here’s what has to happen before we at OSR Green (the action team on this project) can even think about it:
- Eight or ten very interested parties, who are willing to purchase a share in an Idaho OSR Land Co-op, need to come forward. Once we know there’s sufficient funds, we’ll incorporate the co-op (using our expert land co-op attorney) with most of the first shareholders as initial board members, and set up a bank account. This is how the Utah OSR Land Co-op was created.
- The funds from those initial shareholders would then be deposited into the co-op bank account,
- Then, and only then, does it make sense to begin looking for land. In fact, serious real estate agents won’t even let you talk to land sellers unless you are ready to buy.
So, what can be done in the meantime?
- Join and give energy to the Idaho OSR Land Co-op Facebook group to attract potential community residents.
- Post articles and videos to that group that relate to small-scale farming, gardening, solar power, permaculture, passive-solar homes, rainwater harvesting, etc., etc.
- Share those articles that you posted into other (related) Facebook groups for Idaho.
- Refer friends, relatives and acquaintances that would like to live in Utah to our project there (this helps Idaho because we can’t focus on Idaho until the Utah location has enough residents to be self-governing).
- Create your own homestead house and lot plans by working through the 1st 24 lessons in the Path Series.
- Subscribe to the YouTube channel for the Academy of Self-Reliance, watch, like and share our videos there.
