Naperville, Ill. – October 31, 2020 – Constructech is pleased to announce Microsoft’s Sam George, Corporate VP of Azure IoT,  as its keynote speaker at the annual Technology Days Conference, being held virtually and in person November 12-13.

Sam will look to “The Future of Smart Building Construction” with a discussion about current IoT solutions driving the construction industry’s digital transformation and a peek to what’s to come.

“Sam has spent his career working closely with emerging technology and recognizes how it is going to influence industries and the world for greater sustainability,” says Smedley. “As always, Sam brings a fresh perspective to any discussion, that is what this year I am so excited that he has joined the Technology Days event leading our minds for greater action toward a more resilient future led by digital transformation.”

Sam has been at Microsoft since 1997. He has spent  time in all three engineering disciplines (development, test, and program management) as a development manager, lead or developer. In 2011, he moved to a product leadership role.

Sam will explain how under Satya Nadella’s leadership, Microsoft has adopted key practices which include a growth mindset, being very humble, and partnering—all led by digital transformation. He will discuss how Microsoft doesn’t see this as zero-sum game as a winner-take-all market. Attendees will learn why the value of partnerships and a rich ecosystem are all essential to be successful as part IoT transform.

It will also explore the global trends ranging from prefabrication, new materials and processes, underlying design assumptions, BIM, intelligent infrastructure, urban mobility, and more.

Day two focuses on the advancement of technology that is inspiring an industry and the next generation of workers to leverage technology to achieve sustainability objectives. In many cases this means building a vision for those companies that believe in taking on a moonshot dream for achieving sustainability and climate goals through the use of traceability and tracking technology. To build tomorrow’s future we will continue to leverage the worker of the future, new AR/VR, drones, and other tools to reshape our urbanization, and so much more.
