One obvious question that immediately came to my mind is this. If I can’t obtain a mortgage to build a home, then these questions come to mind:
- Im am going to need to work full time to generate an income, which means I am not going to have much time for a working in a Co-op, so am I exempt?
2. If only those that have money saved can invest in this, then is the community more of a retirement community, and not for us poor working class? Which seems to kind of defeat the entire purpose of moving off grid, so that we aren’t slaves to Babylon anymore.
3. Why are the Taxes so high on 2 acres? its nearly 50% of what I pay in the city for a 1.3rd acre. I would expect the tax to be about $150 for a year.

Here’s some answers:
- No one is required to work in a co-op. You can do your own thing 24-7 if you want.
- Most of us are having to sell our existing homes to finance building out our homesteads. We do have a “Perpetual Immigration Fund” account set up to [eventually] help those who don’t have the assets to do this, but now it only has $10 in it. Sadly, the number one reason we turn people away is that they simply can’t afford to finish their homestead once they start. We have to turn them away because we don’t want anyone getting hurt doing this project.
- Wow! Wish I could only pay $150 a year for property taxes! Wasn’t aware the taxes were high for this area. I pay $2,400 a year here in Utah County. I suspect that will easily be cut by 50 to 75% at Riverbed Ranch. Just think! Once “Babylon” falls, the tax rate will be zero.
