If I remember the intent of this question correctly, it would be more clearly asked this way, “If we are all doing our own home-based businesses, is there going to be some mechanism to prevent competition among shareholders?”
Here’s the thing, this is a cooperative enterprise. Cooperation has enormous benefits for all who participate. Yes, you can compete with your co-shareholders, if you want. Personally, I would join WITH THEM in a cooperative enterprise and work together for your mutual benefit.
In my decades of entrepreneuring, I finally realized that although I am capable of doing everything myself (most “visionary entrepreneurs” are), I don’t WANT to do it all myself! I’d prefer to join with others, share responsibilities, and enjoy the synergistic results. As the tiresome MLM-ers say, “Teamwork makes the dream work”. It’s true! And being part of a team is so much better than going it alone, trust me.
If you cannot see how cooperating with others who do what you do would benefit you, perhaps you would not feel comfortable in this cooperative community.
