Yes, families at Riverbed Ranch are enjoying service through satellite Internet providers like Hughesnet and Starlink.
Our plan to install high-speed fiber optic cable and connect to Beehive Broadband’s network has been bogged down by the Bureau of Land Management’s COVlD response. Our application to dig a trench and lay fiber optic cable across their property to reach ours has been on their desk for around 9 months with no hope in sight for its approval.

Hughesnet is not ideal. At least 5 of the 10 families currently living at Riverbed Ranch have applied for the Starlink beta. I personally haven’t heard whether any are actually using it yet. If you’d like to join the OSR Academy Chat private Facebook group, you’d be welcome to do a poll there.
If we are able to connect to Beehive broadband, the monthly bill will likely be very close to what Comcast charges, at least until the co-op recoups its expenses.
I don’t consider Hughesnet to be a real option, cell based internet is better than that. Starlink should be available now and it seems legit, are any of your residents actually using it yet? What will the cost of the beehive service be (once the Bureau of Land Management stops rioting and goes back to work)? Is the co-op being billed for the beehive internet construction cost?
