What are the other 3 acres used for and who decides what’s planted there and how is it maintained?
It is currently being decided by the board of directors. There is a second information webinar that’s out there, but it shows that for every 50 families, there will be a representative. Each 50 families will represent a district. It’s going to be very similar to what you have in your own communities. If you want to use your three acres for a cottage industry, tell the board what the advantage is, what you need to get out of it, so that it’s a win-win situation. Put your proposal together, what is it going to provide the cooperative, and what you get out of it. That land it to be used for good, service, jobs and income for the overall cooperative, so we don’t have to have fees to pay taxes (Each two acres will be assessed by the county and will be responsible for their own taxes).
