I saw in some of the information that in April home building materials (lumber) had increased 110%. So with the price of a 2400 square foot home materials being $160,000, does the increase reflect in the $160,000 or does that figure need to be updated to reflect current lumber/material costs?
As mentioned, those small / medium / large house estimates are very rough, ballpark estimates, and were given only to illustrate a general idea of the costs involved. Given the rise in pricing of building materials, one would be wise to adjust their figures accordingly. Using online construction estimators would be more accurate.
Once we have several dozen homes constructed, we’ll be in a position to better estimate a percentage of savings our shareholders will enjoy due to participating in the cooperative.
