This past week has been an exciting several days, as our outreach is beginning to connect with other groups with similar intent. In each instance the response has been overwhelmingly positive with expressions such as; “This is what we have been trying to do, but you are farther down the road. We need to get our groups together.” In addition to these positive affirmations each contact has brought new opportunities, along with greater depth and breadth to the Project.
In addition, the Academy continues to add new webinars to the “Path Series.” Dr. Christensen will introduce with this week's live webinar “Whole Health Assessments.” This will be the beginning of a series that will help families obtain optimum health in the shortest amount of time, with the least amount of expense. Having one’s health and mobility is crucial in becoming self-reliant.
The OSR Super Saturday Program in Highland, UT on the 16th of March is filled with updates for the project and multiple presentations on construction methods and materials that promise to save time and money while providing a beautiful and energy efficient home. These include ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms), rammed earth, permanent wood foundations that have twice the life span of concrete at one third the price. All of this with samples and additional information.
Tiffany Daumueller will be introducing the OSR Women’s Group and their vision for supporting one another, the educational needs, and other concerns that face the family while preparing to make the transition from a city lifestyle to a country culture of self-reliance. In addition, there will be a panel discussion that will include taking questions from the audience. This panel will include specialists in project development, agriculture, construction, public & personal safety, and a representative from the OSR Women’s Group. The discussion will address life before construction, during construction and after construction. This is a chance for everyone ask those questions that have been nagging them.

Above all, remember our Meet & Greet Potluck where you get to visit one on one with the presenters and others involved in the great work of OSR (Operation Self-Reliance). There is no cost for the day, as all has been provided as a community service by the Academy of Self-Reliance and Friends. Hope to see you there.
