There are certain requirements needed to grow and provide food staples on a scale necessary to feed one’s family and neighbors. Besides having land, a reliable power source is generally required to provide water for food production. An extended power outage is the number one threat to our current food supply chains. It has been identified as an imminent threat that will happen for one or more reasons by congressional studies, the military, and intelligence agencies, and other government and private think tanks. They all concur that there will be an extended power disruption that will last from one to three years.

History has shown that such a disruption will change society and all of our supply chains at a moment's notice. I encourage everyone to not be caught thinking that we are too big to fail; history shows that even the biggest societies fail. Set aside any “normalcy bias” and make any perception corrections needed to prepare as best as you can. You will be surprised at what can be accomplished when one makes a definite course correction and lets go of false paradigms. There is a new normal coming. Those who recognize and make the needed changes will find safety, security, and new opportunities.

God speed,
Philip J. Gleason
Director
